Year of 2011 - from June 9th

We pray to the Lord grant our deceased confreres the eternal repose, and the just reward for his dedication to the serving the flock of the Lord.

 

Pe. Mário José Filho CSS

With deep regret, but a greater confidence in God’s Mercy, who welcomes His sons and daughters in the Eternity, we inform you that during this night of October 13, there passed away, in the hospital where he was admitted  over one week ago, in Ribeirão Preto, SP (state of São Paulo), our confrere Father Mario José Filho.

We offer our prayers in suffrage of Father Mario and asking for God’s grace over his family, especially Mrs. Alice (his mother), whose husband passed away so recently.

Let us pray also for our Congregation for the experience of DEATH be lived for all of us trusting that our lives belong to God. And what He does, surely, is for love.

Father José Carlos Stival, CSS

There passed away, during the night of this Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Provincial House of the Province of the Holy Cross, in Rio Claro, SP, Brazil, our confrere Father José Carlos Stival.

Father Stival was 62 years old.

 

Fr. Richard Woodarek, CSS

There passed away on Friday, August 5th, 2011 in Thailand, our confrere Father Richard Woodarek, CSS. He was 82 years old.

Father Richard died suddenly one day after returned from a trip to the United States to visit his family.

 

Pe. Gino Zantedeschi, CSS

There passed away on June 29, 2011 in Msolwa, Tanzania, our confrere Father Gino Zantedeschi.

Fr. Gino was born in Torbe di Negrar, on May 12, 1948, and was ordained a Stigmatine Preist on September 1st, 1973.

 

Follow-up meeting of the process of Beatificaiton and Canoninzation of the Servant of God Roberto Giovanni:

On June 10, 2011 there took place in Casa Branca, SP a follow-up meeting with the Ecclesiastic Tribunal representatives and Historical, Administrative and Divulgation comissions. Follow some pictures of this event:

Celebration of the Solemnity of St. Gaspar Bertoni:

On June 9, 2011 there took place in the Brazilian Retreat House and Conference Center (Santana Ranch), in Corumbataí, SP, there was celebrated in anticipation the solemn feast of our Founder, St. Gaspar Bertoni. The Eucharistic celebration was presided by the Superior Provincial of the Province of the Holy Cross, Father Aparecido Neres Santana, and concelebrated by the Stigmatine Bishop Emeritus Most Rev. José Geraldo Oliveira do Valle and Most Rev. Antônio de Souza, and many Stigmatine Priest. There attended also the ceremony several Stigmatinie Brothers and the Laity, in a total of 160 people. During the celebration, our professed Luciano Romero da Silva and Rogério de Mello were admitted to the Ministry of Acolyte. After the Mass there was served a delicious dinner.
