Important events of our recent Stigmatine Life, in chronological order
Beginning of 2010
On March 13, 2010 in the Church of the Most Holy Trinity, in Asuncion, Paraguay, there was ordained to the Priesthood the Deacon Kleber Luiz Cardoso. We are cheerful with the priestly ordination of our confrere Kleber, and wish to the new priest a fruitful minisry in favor of the Congregation and the Church.

Your Excellency asked to this Congregation for the Causes of Saints
if anything, by the part of the Holy See, could be opposed to the
Cause of the Beatification and Canonization of the Servant of God
Roberto Giovanni,
professed Brother of the Congregation of the Sacred Stigmata of Our
Lord Jesus Christ, who was died in the year of the Lord of 1994.

On February 27, a strong earthquake occured in Chile, rating a magnitude of 8.8 on Richter magnitude scale. The most affected Sitgmatine community was Lolol, where the Church, with all its structure damaged, was blocked, as well as the former rectory. The Province of the Holy Cross is united with our Chilean brother confreres in prayers and sorrow, while starts a fund raising campaign in order to help them to restore the damaged buildings. On February 1st, 2010 the Superior provincial, Fr. Aparecdio Neres Santana, inaugurated officially the Stigmatine Youth Formation Center, in the St. Benedict Parish, in Campinas, SP. The center counts on 2 halls, one of them for formation and activities, and the other one for studies and celebrations, as well as an office and 2 other rooms. In spite of the heavy rain, there attend the event in the Summer course, from 1st to 5th of February, over 20 young people from the Archdiocese of Campinas, as well as the Assistant to the Provincial, Deacon Elizeu da Conceição, the professed Rogério de Melo and the Pastor Fr. Jorge Luís Moura de Oliveira. Yet, on February 20th and 21st there was carried out a meeting of the assistants, with attendance of 9 young people, as well as the CINE FORUM, with 50 young people.
On January 24, 2010, at 10:30 am, at the Holy Family Church, in São Caetano do Sul, SP, the perpetual professed Elísio Pereira da Anunciação Filho, Juan Carmelo Lezcano Pereira and Vinícios Augusto dos Santos Araújo were ordained to the Diaconate. The celebration was leaded with much tranquility by the Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of Curitiba, PR, Most Rev. João Carlos Seneme. The Church was completely crowded by the faithful, many of them coming in caravans from several other cities, especially Praia Grande and Itapeva, both in São Paulo state. Afterwards, there was served a delightful dinner. Our best wishes to the 3 new Deacons for a fruitful service in favor of the Congregation and of the Church. May St. Gaspar Bertoni illumine them in the living of their Diaconate. May they receive the prayers and congratulations from all the Province of the Holy Cross.
On January 23, 2010, at 10:00 am, at 10:00 am, in the
Seminary of Philosophy (Chácara do Vovô) in
Campinas, SP, there was solemnly celebrated the
Feast of our Patrons, Mary and Joseph, in their Espousals.
The Eucharistc celebration was presided by the Superior Provincial Fr. Aparecido Neres Santana,
and concelebrated by Most Rev.
Mauro Montagnoli and many confreres, as well as our students, among them
some were accepted as postulants, and others professed the first vows or
renewed them. The highest point of the celebration was the profession
of perpetual vows by the professed: Elísio Pereira da Anunciação Filho,
Juan Carmelo Lezcano Pereira and Vinícios Augusto dos
Santos Araújo.
There took place in the Seminary of Philosophy (Chácara do Vovô) in Campinas, SP, from January 17 to 22, 2010, according to required by our Constitutions, the Annual Retreat of the first group. The retreat was done in the Seminary this time as the Retreat House and Conference Center (Santana Ranch) is in remodeling process. There attended the retreat 33 people, among priests, brothers, professed and students. Most Rev. Mauro Montagnoli, Bishop of the Diocese of Ilhéus, BA, leaded the retreat with much knowledge, tranquility and serenity.
