Stigmatine Hymns

Introduction:

About St. Gaspar

The sharp tendency for music was cultivated in the young Gaspar by an excellent orchestra conductor in Verona. Gaspar became expert in managing the piano, the cithara and all the cord instruments; he managed also the wind instruments as the flute, the piston, the trombone, at the point to reach the competence of an orchestra director. And when he conducted a little concert, his companions used to say he nothing missed to the most experienced musician.

Besides his musical talent, he was endowed of an irresistible sense of humor, able to imitate with perfection voice and gesture of everybody.

The young people used to follow him nicely, attracted by his jokes, but entertainment or game would finish before the Tabernacle, in a sick room or in a shack of a poor, where all placed their saving.
