The Province of the Holy Cross was the first in Brazil, and was canonically founded on January 23rd, 1944. Its first office was in Rio Claro, a city in the interior of São Paulo state.

The first house still existent was the Holy Cross Apostolic School Seminary (Seminário Escola Apostólica Santa Cruz), inaugurated in July 7th, 1924, one year before the inauguration of the Holy Cross School (Escola Santa Cruz), both at Rio Claro city, in São Paulo state.

Later on the Provincial Office was moved to Campinas, a city also in the interior of São Paulo state, at a building attached to Saint Benedict Church (Igreja São Benedito). Presently, the Provincial Office is back to Rio Claro, since 2004.

The Province is formed by Parishes, Seminaries, Retreat House and Conference Center, Missions and a School.

The Formation Houses are at the following cities:

The Retreat House and Conference Center is at the Santana Farm (Fazenda Santana), in Corumbataí (SP), a city near from Rio Claro.

The missionary priority of the Province are the state of Bahia and the neighbor countries Chile and Paraguay.
 
The Province of the Holy Cross is sponsor of a Kindergarten, Elementary and Middle School - named Instituto Sagrada Família (Holy Family Institute), in São Caetano do Sul, state of São Paulo. The Province is also in charge of the education in this school.
